About the Golf Course

For over 80 years now, Sagamore Spring Golf Club has been a golfer oasis for those looking to escape the busy city-life in & around Boston. Nesteled on roughly 115 acres of New England woodlands, it's hard to believe that SSGC is only 30 minutes from historic 'Beantown'. The 18-hole course has been carved from the dense forest, showcasing gorgeous & imposing native trees on virtually every hole, creating a truly wonderful 'rural feel' for golfers.sagamore spring golf course about us

With a par of 70 and a total yardage from the back set of tees falling just under 6000 yards, SSGC is a course that every golfer will truly enjoy. While the DSC 0136overall length is not too excessive, the layout itself features subtle challenges and nuances that will certainly require some good golf to navigate. Our goal is to offer golfers the best public conditions, while also keeping the game fun no matter what their handicap may be. At SSGC, golfers will consistently enjoy lush fairways and tees, along with some of the best public greens on the North Shore.

While the two nines each share a par of 35, golfers will find that each nine is quite unique from it's counterpart. The entire course features dozens of well-placed bunkers set both on fairways and greenside, and while the course in not over-run with ponds & streams, golfers will find a few holes with obvious water hazards to navigate. Perhaps the most interesting layout feature is the fact that both nines each end with two back-to-back par-3's... This unique trait is a testament to SSGC's wonderful character!

Overall, SSGC combines great conditions with a special layout that is wonderfully unique & fun to play. It's a golf course that can be enjoyed by nearly anyone, and it won't leave you feeling as though the course 'chewed you up & spit you out'... It's definitely a challenge, but it's challenging in a way that will leave golfers smiling, and not begging for mercy!
