Club Tournaments at SSGC

This event is one of our most anticipated each year with huge bragging rights on the line! The Sagamore Cup showcases a 14-player team from each Sagamore course (Sagamore-Hampton Golf Club & Sagamore Spring Golf Club) competing against each other in a super-fun weekend event, much like the renowned ‘Ryder Cup’ matches! Below are the details:

SSGC QUALIFYING DETAILS & COSTS

• Qualifying will take place between May 24th and June 22nd
• Open to all Sagamore Spring Golf Club GHIN Handicap Members
• We will use 100% of the handicap index from the date of the qualifying round
• Gross qualifying score will take priority over net score (cannot choose division)
• Men play from the black tees and women play from silver tees
• Can roll the ball in your own fairway 6 inches
• Need to qualify with at least one other Sagamore Cup qualifier
• Players need to sign the qualifying book before they tee off
• Players need to sign and return cards to the qualifying book
• Players need to post their scores after their round in the qualifying book
• Players must post at least two rounds with a maximum of five attempts
• Discounted greensfees for qualifying rounds; $45 weekdays & $50 weekends
• The team will consist of 14 players, 8 gross, 6 net
• Matches are Saturday and Sunday, June 28th and 29th
• The team fee will be $135 per player, including shirt, golf, and party

SAGAMORE CUP MATCHES

• This year’s Cup matches are scheduled for Saturday, June 28th, and Sunday June 29th, 2025. 
• 6/28 (Sat) matches will be hosted by Sagamore-Hampton Golf Club (11 AM start)
• 6/29 (Sun) matches will be hosted by Sagamore Spring golf Club (10 AM start)

TOURNAMENT COSTS & NOTES

• Those who make SSGC’s final team of 14 will each pay a $135 Tournament Fee (which covers 2- days of golf, golf car rentals, Puma team golf shirt, and BBQ dinner).
• Sagamore Spring Golf Club will be hosting the celebratory BBQ and cup presentation following Sunday’s (6/29) matches.

Sagamore Spring Golf Club 2025 Club Championship OPEN QUALIFYING: June 16th – July 14th, 2025 

CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES: JULY 19th & JULY 20th, 2025

Sagamore Spring Golf Club’s annual Club Championship is a fun, competitive event open to ALL active SSGC GHIN Members

Qualifying Details:

• Open qualifying will take place from June 16th – July 14th, 2025  
• Qualifying players must have an active Sagamore Spring handicap
• Qualifying players may post scores for both the Sagamore Cup AND the Club Championship during the overlapping qualifying dates.  
• Qualifying players may attempt as many qualifying rounds as they choose, but must post at least two qualifying scores. IF you only post one score, you are not eligible!  
• Qualifying players must play their round(s) with at least one other SSGC qualifying player  
• All qualifying rounds must be posted to the players’ GHIN handicap account on the day of play.
• Signed scorecards must be returned immediately following the round  
• Rounds played outside of the qualifying period will not be accepted
• Discounted greens fees are available for qualifying rounds. Cart fees will not be discounted.
• WOMEN DO NOT NEED TO QUALIFY. A SIGN-UP SHEET IS INSIDE  FOR THOSE LOOKING TO PLAY.

Championship Weekend (7/19 – 7/20)

• $160 fee for the weekend. Includes all greens fees, cart fees, range, Food & Beverage, and the Club Championship gift.
• Two match play brackets (16 players each, gross & net)
• A consolation point quota round will take place on Sunday morning following the semi-final matches  
• Women will play two stroke-play rounds (one on Saturday & one of Sunday) with a Gross & Net Champion

Men’s Matches:

• Saturday: 1st round matches in the morning, 2nd round matches in the afternoon
• Sunday: Semi Final matches in the morning followed by consolation round with Final matches in the afternoon 

2025 Senior Club Championship

The Senior Club Championship event is open to all Sagamore Spring Golf Club GHIN Handicap Members ages 50 & over!

Sign-up Details:

• Senior Club Championship with an open sign-up for all Sagamore Spring GHIN handicap members ages 50+
• No qualifying rounds are needed. Fill out a space on the sign-up sheet located at the golf shop counter
• We will have a Women’s & Men’s tournament consisting of two stroke play rounds Championship Weekend (9/27– 9/28)
• $125.00 fee for the weekend. Includes all greens fees, cart fees, range, Food & Beverage
• Gross and Net Champions will be crowned for both gross and net players
• Two stroke play rounds, with one on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 9:45 am each morning
• Food & Beverage will follow the conclusion of the Sunday round
